From Rhythm to Realm

"INTERNAL SCHOOL EVENT – NOT OPEN TO THE PUBLIC".
From Rhythm to Realm is a sustained 6-week art club project engaging Year 7 and 8 students in large-scale collaborative drawing, anchored in the four key lenses of The Big Draw 2026: Make a Mark:

Materials & Process: Students test unconventional materials (twigs, cardboard strips, combs, sponges) and black ink to build personal mark libraries.

Body & Movement: Kinetic, full-body warm-ups using long bamboo extensions challenge traditional control and connect physical movement to line-making.

Meaning & Connection: Rhythmic soundscapes and music drive the introduction of vibrant color, scale, and emotion.

Legacy & Impact: The series culminates in a permanent or multi-week collaborative mural inspired by Joan Eardley, where individual traces merge into a shared visual environment.

This project democratises drawing by removing expectations of fine accuracy, empowering every student to contribute intentionally to a shared artistic legacy.
