Event description
Join us at the Mander Centre and contribute to what promises to be one of the largest public drawing projects Wolverhampton has ever seen, celebrating the rich tapestry of difference that the city of Wolverhampton holds at its heart. Over three days, participants will collectively create an evolving large-scale drawing that responds to the people, architecture, movements, stories and experiences that shape this vibrant urban space.
Inspired by ideas of psychogeography, the project invites participants to explore not only the physical environment of the shopping centre, but also its emotional, social and personal landscapes. Together, we will map encounters, memories, observations and imagined journeys, creating a shared visual record of the city and its communities.
Led by expert practitioners from Fine Art and Illustration within the University of Wolverhampton's School of Creative Industries, the event will offer creative guidance, drawing activities and opportunities for experimentation throughout. No prior drawing experience is needed. Just enthusiasm, curiosity, a willingness to take risks, and a desire to be part of something bigger.
There will be scheduled activities alongside informal drop-in and drop-out participation opportunities throughout the event. All materials will be provided.
