The Big Draw 2026: Make a Mark at Gainsborough’s House

As part of this year’s The Big Draw Festival, Gainsborough’s House is teaming up with artist Anna Brass to create an interactive drawing installation where we invite you to take part and #MakeAMark!
The Kemp Room, our former shop space on site, will be transformed by you. We’re inviting you to contribute to the display throughout the week to make a 360-drawing installation.

Taking inspiration from the silk lined walls of the Gainsborough Gallery, we will create our very own interactive version based on Thomas Gainsborough’s techniques and subject matter. From portraits to landscapes, this week will involve drawing on fabric, mark making on the windows and making scenes with fruit and vegetables to inspire your framed artworks!

If you would like to add to the scene and look at what we have been up to please come along to visit the Kemp Room for FREE, at the entrance on Gainsborough’s street.
