The Big Draw

This year’s theme, ‘Drawn Together,’ highlights how creativity unites us and how collaboration and connection are at the heart of making.
Visitors are invited to take part in the festival with a self-directed activity, inspired by the exhibitions ‘Mika Rottenberg. Vibrant Matter’ and ‘Cindy Sherman. The Women.’ Participants will be asked to sketch the upper half of a body, while others will illustrate the lower half. These drawings will be combined into a collective mural, forming unexpected and imaginative new figures. Over the course of the month, the mural will continue to grow and evolve—transforming into a lively community of bodies and identities that celebrates creativity, diversity and collective expression.

Founded in 2000 by the Guild of St George, The Big Draw is a pioneering visual literacy charity dedicated to raising the profile of drawing as a tool for wellbeing, thought, creativity, social and cultural engagement. The charity leads a diverse program of advocacy, empowerment and engagement, and is the founder and driving force behind The Big Draw Festival—the world’s biggest celebration of drawing.
