Event description
Join the Parks and Countryside Education Team at Wharton Park on Saturday 6th June between 11am-2pm and help create our ‘Make a Mark’ artwork celebrating 10 years of Wharton Park!
The community are invited to come together to get creative painting individual A5 painting that will contribute to a larger scale artwork. The 80 paintings will use the pointillism technique to make up the large-scale artwork depicting a popular landmark in the park. The painting will be displayed in the parks café when finished later in the year.
Participants can also make a mark by creating a design on a canvas bag and using natural materials make a mark in clay to make a decoration to take home. There is no need to book just drop in on the day to take part.
The main car park will be closed during the event, with limited Blue Badge parking available on a first come, first served basis. Once this is full, a drop-off and pick-up system will be in place for visitors who are unable to walk into the park.
Free parking is available at County Hall Car Park, which is a short walk away from the park - please follow the yellow event signage. Limited on-street parking is also available on North Road and Framwellgate Peth.
