Drawing on the Estate

Throughout Autumn, visitors can pick up a sketching bag from Visitor Welcome, containing some basic drawing and sketching tools, that can be used to capture your versions of this wonderful Estate.

In the house, visitors can pick up a small camping stool on the way in, designed to allow you to sit down up close with some of our collections items and make your own drawn interpretations. Sit and observe the Queen Esther tapestry, re-imagine the Molyneux-Seel portraits, detail the details of the Queen Mary Oxburgh hangings, and countless other wonders on display.

Also, follow the journeys of 3 workers on the Estate from the 20th Century. At the end of their story paths around the gardens, have a go at drawing the tools and objects they would have used daily, their clothing or outfits, or what you imagine they looked like.
