Event description

Ever combined yoga and drawing? Now is your chance! In this 3-hour session you will be guided through a Yin Yang yoga session then experiment with drawing led by artist Hugo Winjaard.

Stretch and Sketch encourages you to capture the shapes that the body creates after embodying them during your practice. Yoga Asana (postures) consists of shapes that are interesting and enjoyable to draw. Both yoga and life drawing are meditative and help you to relax and notice the present moment. Our event is open to everyone - no yoga or drawing experience is required.

About the Yin Yang yoga:
The class will include a slow and energising flow, with standing and balancing postures, and yin, where we’ll hold more restful poses for 3-5 minutes each.

About the life drawing:
During the life drawing session, students will be able to draw some of the postures they have just experienced. Hugo will offer tutoring for those who wish.

What to bring?
A yoga mat although some will be available to borrow.

Refreshments and art materials are provided. We will be seated on the floor for the life drawing section but chairs will be available if needed.

This session will take place from 1-4pm. Details of how to get to the Burrell and info on car parking can be found on our website.
