Big Draw Living Lines at the Treasure House
with Artists Daphne Hicks, Esther Cawley and Penny Barron
The Treasure House
Sat 14 Oct 10am - 3pm
A day of exploring and making lines inspired by our collections and exhibitions. For adults and children of all ages, including under 5s. The Treasure House is celebrating this year's Big Draw theme by inviting visitors to create Lines that Grow and Lines that Move. Come and explore our current exhibitions and collections displayed and cared for at this arts and heritage facility, including Beverley Art Gallery, and Beverley Library. There are free drop-in activities for visitors of all ages, from adults to children, including under 5s. Be inspired by the wondrous images of German photographer and amateur botanist Karl Blossfeldt. Sketch with help from botanical illustrator Daphne Hicks or create plant form images that 'grow' around the spaces of the building with artist Esther Cawley. For green-fingered under 5s we've got plant-themed mark making, play and craft activities. Beverley Library is hosting children's workshops called Zig-a-zag-a-draw with artist Penny Barron. Participants will explore the idea of Lines that Move by expressing the movement of dance by working different types of lines into their own body outlines.
