Daler-Rowney and Cass Art sponsor The Big Draw 2010

The Campaign for Drawing is delighted to welcome back Daler-Rowney and Cass Art as exclusive Big Draw sponsors. Their enthusiasm and generosity helped to make the tenth Big Draw our biggest and most colourful yet. With their support – and yours – we hope to make 2010 bigger and better still.

Daler-Rowney, the world famous fine art materials manufacturer (established in 1783), has extended its sponsorship in order to inspire artists of all levels of experience to gather, exchange, and share their creativity at Big Draw events. Cass Art, London’s leading art supplier, is well known for its ambition to ‘fill the town with artists’. Sponsoring another Big Draw season ensures wide support for this aim, which we hope many of you will choose to promote.  Using our sponsors’ products at your events will encourage their continuing involvement with our Campaign!

Register now

Everyone, from individual artists to national museums – is invited to organise events on Big Draw Day (9 October), or throughout the month. If you registered online in 2009, simply go to http://www.campaignfordrawing.org/bigdraw/login.aspx and log in to add your 2010 event details. Lost your password? You’ll automatically receive a new one. If you’re not yet registered, nothing could be easier (and it’s free). Visit www.campaignfordrawing.org/bigdraw

In May, all registered organisers will receive a free DVD packed with inspiring case studies. In the meantime, you will find resources online to help plan your event at http://www.campaignfordrawing.org/bigdraw/resources.aspx

Pick your Theme and Win an Award

This year’s theme is Make your Mark on the Future! Possible subjects include changing places, architecture, habitats and habitation, fashion, climate change, ecology and re-cycling. If none appeals, just select your own. All kinds of mark making (with meaning!) are valid – from painting to animation.

By documenting your event you could win one of thirteen Barbara Whatmore Charitable Trust Awards (worth up to £750 each) for outstanding programmes – from trailblazers to imaginative community projects. Additionally, the best event organised by young people receives the Arts Award prize; the most engaging event in a gallery, museum or heritage site for 12-24 year olds wins the £1000 NADFAS Award. The Society of Architectural Illustration Award goes to the project which explores urban or rural buildings most creatively.

Why not join us for an inspirational afternoon at The British Museum on 24 May (2.30- 5.30)? Email admin@campaignfordrawing.org for an invitation to the annual Drawing Inspiration Awards ceremony, celebrating outstanding activities from the 2009 Big Draw season and last October’s Learning Revolution Festival.
